About Elise
Elise Haas is a compelling breaking-news reporter and storyteller for KOIN 6 News in Portland, Oregon. She joined the morning team in June 2018.
She serves as the fill-in anchor on KOIN 6 News This Morning and on The CW’s AM Extra.
While in Portland, she’s investigated Multnomah County’s Housing Authority, covered historic Oregon wildfires, and has reported in the heat of numerous protests, ranging from Occupy ICE PDX to the months-long Black Lives Matter movement that garnered national headlines.
Previously, Elise worked as an MMJ in Tri-Cities, Washington. She was responsible for pitching and turning promotable stories for the evening newscasts.
While in the Tri-Cities, she covered national breaking news events like the emergency at the Hanford Nuclear Site after the tunnel collapse, the deadly school shooting at Freeman High south of Spokane, as well as sharing localized stories of victims in the Las Vegas Massacre and Texas church shooting.
